Jon-John, producer of TLC’s Let’s Do It Again has a new girl group!

When thinking of your favorite track from TLC‘s 1994 record breaking, diamond selling CrazySexyCool album, you would be forgiven if you struggled to decide which songs you like the best, as the album was a solid body of work!

One of the stand out tracks on the album is the sultry “Let’s Do It Again“, which blends T-Boz‘s soft, husky but sensual tones along with Chilli‘s smooth, velvet-like texture perfectly, all the way to the climax of the song, where the ladies go back and forth vocally. Amazing!

The legendary Babyface was responsible for that special little number, but not many know that it was co-produced and written by a talented up and coming producer named Jon-John Robinson, who also worked on a lot of Babyface’s solo music.

Left Eye wasn’t on this particular song, but she was always at the studio with the girls. Bebé, who is actually a character Babyface plays, provided the background vocals on this song with T-Boz and Chilli.

“Let’s Do It Again” was actually in the running to become a single! It was a toss up between that and “Diggin’ On You“, the label ultimately decided to go with the latter choice, eventually.

Jon-John and Babyface were also working on another song for TLC on the album, which had a more of a club funk vibe to it (which remains untitled). Debra Killings laid down her vocals but unfortunately, the song wasn’t able to be completed.

Jon-John went on to produce more great tracks for artists like Pink, Az Yet, JoJo, Another Level, K-Ci & Jojo, 3LW, Tamia, Jon B, Gladys Knight and Diana Ross, just to name a few!

The name aRKadia is inspired by their favorite song “Arcadia” by The Kite String Tangle, which has an 80s vibe that the girls fell in love with!

Open Road Films is appointing its Supreme Court Justice film Marshall into theaters in October.

Chadwick Boseman stars in the drama as groundbreaking attorney and justice Thurgood Marshall. Josh Gad, Kate Hudson, Dan Stevens, James Cromwell, Sterling K. Brown, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Jussie Smollett and Keesha Sharp are also featured in the cast.

The film is set for nationwide release on Oct. 13, opposite Lionsgate’s Liam Neeson actioner The Commuter, Paramount’s Friday the 13th remake and Universal’s Michael Fassbender film The Snowman.

Marshall centers on the attorney’s courtroom roots, when a nearly bankrupt NAACP sends him to conservative Connecticut to defend a black chauffeur against his wealthy socialite employer in a sexual assault and attempted murder trial that quickly becomes tabloid fodder. Muzzled by a segregationist court, he is partnered with Samuel Friedman (Gad), a young Jewish lawyer who has never tried a case. They struggle against a hostile storm of fear and prejudice, driven to discover the truth in the sensationalized trial which helped set the groundwork for the Civil Rights Movement to come.

Reginald Hudlin directed the biodrama from a script by renowned trial lawyer Michael Koskoff and his son, screenwriter Jacob Koskoff. Paula Wagner produced the film through her Chestnut Ridge Productions banner along with Jonathan Sanger and Hudlin. Executive producers are Peter Luo and Belton Lee. It was produced with the full support of the Thurgood Marshall and Samuel Friedman estates, including their children, John W. Marshall and Lauren Friedman. Sony is distributing the film internationally.

“I can’t wait for the world to see this movie,” Hudlin said in a statement. “It’s a thriller, not a biopic, about an early case of one of the greatest lawyers in American history. In a time when we need heroes who fight for justice, Marshall is an inspirational movie that brings people together. And it’s a lot more fun than anyone expects.”
