Update – Kel Mitchell, the ‘All That’ co-executive producer, has confirmed that the original TLC theme song will indeed return in it’s original form!

“Well, this is just an introduction, before I blow your mind. The show is All of That, and yes, we do it all the time” — the opening lines from a young and vibrant Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who laced the theme song of the Nickelodeon comedy skit show, ‘All That‘, along with her group mates Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas — aka TLC!

Often referred to as a ‘Saturday Night Live’ for a Nickelodeon audience, ‘All That’ first premiered on the network in 1994 and ran for ten seasons until 2005. As well as featuring on the shows opening theme, TLC were chosen as musical guests twice in season 1, and took part in various skits on the show.

T-Boz recently revealed that ‘All That’ using TLC in the pilot episode helped to get the show picked up by the network, as well as hiring the girls to perform the theme song. The president of Nickelodeon eventually picked the show up, and the rest is history, as they say. The power of TLC!

Despite the show ending in 2005, the ‘All That’ co-creator, Brian Robbins, who became the president of Nickelodeon in 2018, decided that he would greenlight the return of his former hit show. The revival of ‘All That’ was then confirmed in February 2019!

“We think there’s a great opportunity to find the next pool of stars,” said Robbins. “We want to bring the show back in a real fun way. This summer, we are going to bring back a lot of the original cast and the cast through the years, and let them introduce the new cast of ‘All That’ to the world,” which he described as “a sort of mash-up of some of the old sketches and a lot of new sketches.”

‘All That’ has kept up with the times — it’s presence is fully existent on social media — they excitedly announced the taping of the first episode in May 2019 in a series of posts to commemorate the moment with the world!

During shots of the audience at the taping, it was notable that the original TLC theme song can be heard blaring out the speakers before and after the taping, which leaves us to ask only one question — will TLC remain on the theme song for the revamped show?

If it ain’t broke, keep it the same!

The Jonas Brothers have been announced as the first musical guests, when the new show premieres at 8:30PM on June 15, 2019 on Nickelodeon.

Let’s hope they give TLC a call to make a guest appearance, too!
