TLC Honored with Musicology Doctorate, Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award & Proclamations of Atlanta

TLC had an eventful weekend on June 8 & 9, 2024 in their home town of Atlanta, GA. It was full of surprises and it gave the ladies their chance to truly receive their flowers.

Kicking off the festivities on Saturday June 8, TLC ventured down to the Stockbridge Amphitheater for a 30th anniversary celebration of their timeless sophomore album, 1994’s ‘CrazySexyCool‘.

T-Boz and Chilli were reunited with some of their Dungeon Family in the form of Goodie Mob, who were supporting TLC at the show. 90’s girl group Brownstone were also in the house and opened up the show.

TLC put on an high-energy performance with their back-to-back hits, and added some deep cuts including, “Case of the Fake People,” “Hat 2 da Back” and “Silly Ho.”

One of the highlights of the show was T-Boz bringing her niece Bella Sky on stage to sing an adorable duet of “Unpretty” with her, before the legends belted out their final two cuts at the end of the show, “No Scrubs” and “Waterfalls”, the latter which brought the crowd to their feet as Left Eye‘s original rap vocals echoed throughout the stage.

Before the night ended, Stockbridge Mayor Anthony Ford declared June 8 as a national TLC day holiday in Atlanta! He issued the ladies with the Stockbridge City Proclamation, whilst Atlanta City councilman Byron Amos issued the ladies the Proclamation from the City of Atlanta!

The second day of the celebrations continued on Sunday June 9, where TLC were honorees of the 5th annual Black Music Mogul brunch, at the Gathering Spot.

T-Boz was unable to attend the event, but Chilli was entertained by a plethora of entertainers performing TLC tributes. A stand out performance of “Waterfalls” by Maliibu Miitch and Jai’Len Josey almost brought tears to Chilli’s eyes.
