During the event Reigndrop was joined on stage by her brother Ron Lopes and Cemetery Tim, who created the new headstone for Lisa. Reigndrop also met Marqueze Ethridge for the first time and she was delighted to be informed that he co-wrote the TLC classic, “Waterfalls“.

Reigndrop hosted the event via Facebook and Instagram simultaneously whilst she jammed to a selection of TLC’s biggest hits, and was notably unimpressed at the album version of “No Scrubs” being played without Lisa’s iconic rap verse. The Facebook live stream became problematic with the use of copyrighted music being played, so Reigndrop switched it to music from Left Eye’s ‘Supernova‘ and happily told Facebook she owns this music, so they can’t shut her live feed down for using it.

Fans were delighted to learn that the ‘Supernova‘ album was on the verge of receiving it’s full worldwide release on streaming platforms after continuous demand from the fans. As we know, Lisa’s debut solo album received a limited release in Japan and the UK and was scrapped from receiving a US release.

“We’re working to release ‘Supernova’ to streaming on the date that she originally wanted her album to be released”, Reigndrop announced. “And if you’re a real fan you already know what the date is, so I don’t have to say it”. Although she added that “plans can change”, she was adamant that,”That date meant something to Lisa, so we’re going to stick to that”.

Of course, the date Reigndrop was referring to was August 16th, which was the original date Lisa wanted her album to be released in 2001. Lisa was drawn to this date in particular for a special reason. “My father died on August 16th and his father was born on August 16th”, Lisa explained to MTV News. “And then on January 31st, was the day that [my father] was born and [his father] died. So, they came in and out of each others dates. It’s a very significant release date”.

Reigndrop was also excited to reveal that she is producing a brand new Left Eye documentary.

Energy Never Dies… Happy Birthday Lisa!

The Silent Auction will be live until June 3, 2022. Visit www.Lefteye20th.betterworld.org to place your bids and own a piece of Left Eye history!

A&E Producing ‘Biography: TLC’ Documentary In 2021

Despite the entertainment industry being forced to be put on hold during the global pandemic, the ladies of TLC have been given some time to focus on other projects that they were previously negotiating but were always pushing back because of major touring opportunities that took priority.

TLC finally decided to reveal to Rolling Stone that they are producing an all-new documentary! The two-hour special, titled ‘Biography: TLC, will chronicle the journey of the top-selling girl group throughout their career in the Nineties and beyond, featuring interviews with surviving members T-Boz and Chilli. ‘Biography: TLC’ will be directed by Matt Kay, and executive-produced by Roger Ross Williams (The Apollo) and his production company with Geoff Martz, One Story Up.

In addition to the stories that we all know and love in previous documentaries such as VH1’s ‘Behind The Music’, MTV’s ‘BIO Rhythm’, ‘Life In 3D’, and the Netflix special, ‘Once In A Lifetime Sessions‘, there is going to be some exclusive stories in ‘Biography: TLC’ that the public have never heard before and it will feature insights to the girls lives that the public have never seen before.

“The Biography banner has always focused on telling the stories of remarkable people who have had a major impact on our collective culture,” A&E Network EVP and head of programming Elaine Frontain Bryant said. “As a revolutionary group that broke boundaries and influenced an entire generation, TLC falls directly into that category and we are honored to tell their incredible story as it has never been told before.”

“As someone who has long been in awe of TLC and their musical and cultural impact, I am thrilled to be a part of bringing the story of their music, their journey, and their continuing reverence to the screen,” Williams said in a press release. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with A&E, as well as filmmaker Matthew Kay, to bring this film to life. We hope this film illuminates a side of this incredible group and Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins, Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas that long-time fans and viewers alike have not seen before.”

Hopelessly In Love: TLC’s Left Eye & Andre Rison (2020)

Lifetime television premiered their limited 3-part docu-series ‘Hopelessly In Love‘ on January 4, 2020. The series details the ups and downs of the relationships between Anna-Nicole Smith and Larry Birkhead, Biggie Smalls and Faith Evans, and the opening episode focused on Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Andre Rison.

The episode spoke to the friends and family of both Andre and Lisa, including his mother Merdice Brown-Coleman and sister Raquel, and Lisa’s sister Reigndrop Lopes, mother Wanda Lopes-Colemon, and close friends Trena Smith, cousin Tangi Foreman and previously unseen footage released by her family.

Andre himself confessed that he “was deeply in love” with Lisa. “It was dope,” he said. “She came by the house and pretty much never left.”

As you’ll recall, Lisa accidentally burned down Andre’s mansion during a falling out between the two. Despite that, the two still had love for one another and planned to get married sometime in the early 2000’s, though Lisa eventually called the wedding off, much to Andre’s devastation.

The docu-series reveals details of two miscarriages that Lisa had sadly experienced during her time with Andre, and rumors of an alleged spell of voodoo Lisa placed on Andre, something her family vehemently deny. “Lisa did not practice voodoo”, Reigndrop clarifies.

Lisa’s love for 2pac is also scrutinized as a major reason as to why her relationship with Andre became so troubled. 2pac and Andre were close friends, he wasn’t aware that Lisa already had feelings for 2pac when he met her in a club back in the 90’s. Andre later admits that it was hard for him to shake off his trust issues.

Both Trena and Suge Knight admit that Lisa had strong feelings for 2pac, which was mutual. 2pac wanted to be with her in the long-term, so refused to be intimate with her.

“They slept in the same bed together. We stopped over at ‘Pac’s house. They never was intimate, though”, Trena confirms. “He was like her soul mate. Lisa loved 2Pac, but Andre wasn’t going nowhere”.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes (2019)

Cable TV network REELZ have produced a brand new episode in their ‘Autopsy‘ series, which is a documentary-style television series that investigates the tragic, controversial and sudden deaths of celebrities.

This episode is based on the late, great Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. It premiered on March 24, 2019.

The producers speak to Lisa’s siblings; Reigndrop and Ronald Lopes, as well as Forensic Pathologist Dr Michael Hunter, who will look into the circumstances behind the tragedy and find out exactly what happened in the accident.

As a fan, I felt this episode brought some closure to the whole tragedy of losing such an idol, icon and inspirational individual. However, some of the detailed information about the exact cause of death is not for everyone, so be prepared.

Rest in peace, Lisa Nicole Lopes.

A true Supernova.

Synopsis
On April 25th 2002 Lisa “Left -Eye” Lopes was killed in a mysterious car crash in the depths of the Honduran Jungle. The road was quiet, conditions were dry and initial reports suggest that hers was the only car on the road. Lisa was one third of the phenomenally successful girl band TLC and her death was met with shock and hysteria. Lisa was 5ft tall but her feisty volatile nature often brought her into contact with the law. Yet at the height of TLC’s fame she began to spend more and more time in a mysterious Jungle retreat that was set up by self-proclaimed healer Dr Sebi. Did Dr Sebi’s strict dietary regime have any influence on her tragic accident? In this episode, Forensic Pathologist Dr Michael Hunter looks at the last three weeks in the life on this musical Icon to try to work out how and why she was killed.
