T-Boz Leaves Sheila Role In Days Of Our Lives

IMG_20190428_160030.jpg

Days Of Our Lives actress and TLC superstar Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins is once again set to depart Salem as the sassy and outspoken ex-con, Sheila Watkins.

The sad news comes just as her character is finally finding her feet in town and has developed feelings for Mayor Abe Carver (James Reynolds).

This week, she and mayoral candidate Abe get a little frisky, but Abe’s snakey opponent Jack (Matthew Ashford) catches them in the act, and decides to use his findings to smear Abe’s reputation.

It’s for this reason that the good-hearted Sheila took it on the chin and decides to save Abe’s skin and voluntarily quits her position as his assistant and leaves Salem to give his career a better chance at surviving the scandal.

Sheila has come a long way since her arrival on the show back in 2016, when she first appeared as a bad girl prisoner who gave Hope (Kristian Alfonso) hell when they were in jail together. Sheila wasn’t keen on having a cop as a roomie and gave Hope a couple of beat downs!

She returned to our screens in 2017 to assist Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) in a doppelganger plotline, assisting her convict buddy in maintaining a false life living as Adrienne Kiriakis in her mansion. Sheila posed as a laidback maid until the truth was exposed and they both fled town.

Sheila then returned in 2018, once again assisting Bonnie in another crooked scheme, bringing in Bonnie’s baby granddaughter as her own to blackmail Lucas.

In the meantime, Sheila rekindled her friendship with Eli (Lamon Archey) and eventually landed herself a job with the Mayor, thanks to Abe’s daughter Lani (Sal Stowers) who just wanted Sheila to get a job, after feeling jealous of her spending so much time with Eli.

Sheila has come and gone many times, so her departure may only be temporary. There’s no word on what the future holds for Sheila yet, but it’s nice to see that the door is being kept open for a possible return in the future.

T-Boz has always been open about her wishes to continue with her role as Sheila Watkins for the long-term in the hit television soap, and fans love her comical and witty personality, which brings a breath of fresh air to the show, so it would only make sense to bring Sheila back one day.

However, fans needn’t worry about losing their regular fix of Watkins on TV, as she has been confirmed to star in the hit WEtv series Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta which starts during the summer of 2019.

TLC’s Chilli and Weezer Don’t Want No Scrubs: Live at Coachella 2019

The wishes of the C of TLC have finally come true, in the form of a live collaboration!

Back in January, rock band Weezer dropped a teaser from their latest album of covers, ‘The Teal Album‘. On the project they decided to cover the TLC classic ‘No Scrubs‘ — and Chilli approved!

So much so, the gorgeous TLC member let it be known that she would like to perform the song with them one day!

Fast forward to April 13th and her hopes have now come to fruition. Weezer invited Chilli to join them live on stage during their set at the Coachella festival in Indio, California!

Chilli surprised fans when she performed the iconic ‘Fanmail‘ lead single effortlessly along with Weezer front man Rivers Cuomo, giving the song a new lease of life to an alternative audience.

Much like the famous introductions Chilli gives to the audience at TLC shows, educating young girls to avoid those scrubs when they start to drive, Rivers replicates the same sentiments during his anti-scrub speech. Our girls have taught him well.

Keeping in with the humor, he starts the song solo, acting surprised to hear a familiar female voice interject his vocals, whilst maintaining the suspense of Chilli’s guest feature.

The performance was a hit with the crowd, and Chilli later took to social media to thank the guys and hinted that they may be in attendance on the upcoming TLC summer tour!

In addition to ‘Scrubs’, Weezer also performed a barbershop quartet version of their own song, “Beverly Hills”, as well as fan favorites “Buddy Holly”, “Hash Pipe”, “El Scorcho”, and “Island in the Sun”.

Most diehard TLC fans will recall Weezer being one of TLC’s biggest competitions at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards, where both groups were nominated for countless awards.

It’s a pleasure to see them working together. Let’s hope more connections and collabs will be formed with more of their peers from the 90’s and today!

Check out their epic performance below and let us know your thoughts!

Eli Digs The Truth Between Sheila and Abe’s Friendship

Drama in Days of our Lives is a guarantee.

Following the last episode’s cliffhanger moment, when Abe Carver seemed to make an advance towards Sheila Watkins after thanking her for her continued support, the happy moment didn’t last for long!

Abe had second thoughts, realizing he would be crossing professional boundaries, and instead tried to throw the blame onto Sheila for making a move on him!

Just in the nick of time, Eli Grant and Lani Price turn up at the pub, witnessing the kiss that almost happened, and preventing the two from exploding into a bigger fight.

While Lani sits with Abe to explain why she is currently in possession of baby David, Eli goes to the bar with Sheila to find out the truth about her friendship with Abe.

Sheila insists that she and Abe are not friends, and tells Eli how Abe attacked her for giving him some suggestions for his campaign.

Despite this, Sheila is sure that she knows what Abe wants; a woman that will stand by his side, since his ex-girlfriend Valerie left him to pursue her career.

Will Sheila turn out to be the woman Abe needs in his life?
