The wait is finally over for European fans of TLC who have been patiently awaiting the release of the Funko Pop! Rocks line of TLC figures, which come complete with a set of Chase variants.
The TLC Funko Pop! Rocks are styled as the girls in the iconic “Waterfalls” video! They come with limited editon Chase variants in a translucent style, replicating the scenes of the video where the ladies turn into water!
The pops were initially announced back in October 2020 after news surfaced online about the development of the TLC line. Since then, they received a US release in January 2021 and have since sold out for the time being on the official Funko website.
Fans over in Europe can now finally be reassured that they can now get their own set of TLC pops which were released today on the official FunkoEurope.com site. The European site went live in November 2020, giving Funko fans in Europe some relief at not having to resort to US imports.
We love the attention to detail on these TLC pops. From the iconic sideburns on T-Boz, slick baby hairs on Chilli and the trademark line under Left Eye‘s left eye and ’80’ tattoo on her arm, the number on Andre Rison’s football shirt!
You can order your favourite pops right now on FunkoEurope.com and if you’re lucky enough, you have a 1 in 6 chance of receiving a chase Variant, too!
A BIG thank you to the team at Funko Europe for keeping us updated with the latest official information and for sharing a little ‘TLC’ with us, we appreciate you!
To be in with a chance of winning a regular set of TLC Pop! Rocks figures, simply comment below on this website post and tell us the name of your favourite TLC album!
We’ll close the competition on March 31, 2021 and announce the winner on our social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! Good luck!
The R&B groups of the 90’s aren’t done with the topic of a girl group 90’s Verzuz battle just yet. Tamika Scott of the group Xscape today (July 29, 2020) gave Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins a public reply, in response to T-Boz saying she would willingly battle the any of groups back in May. “It would have to be in a ‘nice and love’ way, a friendly competition”, she insisted.
Tamika reached out to T-Boz via Instagram, to inform her that she has the blessing of her group mate Tameka “Tiny” Harris and SWV member Lelee Lyons. Tamika said, “Okay T-Boz, I hear you… I spoke with Tiny last night and I spoke with Lelee today. We’re here for it, let’s do it for the culture! Let’s have some fun ladies!!”
It is currently unclear how three groups could carry out a head-to-head challenge, but if the technicalities can be figured out this would be an epic Verzuz episode, breaking the boundaries and making new rules for a three-way challenge for the first time.
As long as one member from each group agrees, this could finally happen. The Verzuz team have already teased some interest in the acts included in this challenge, so it’s just a waiting game.
“It’s been a long, long time coming“, the opening line from ‘Way Back‘, the first single lifted from TLC‘s first album in 15 years, which was released a year ago today on June 30, 2017!
After breaking the record for the fastest Kickstarter funded pop project ever in 2015 (they raised over $430k and smashed their $150k deadline in under 48 hours), the girls were finally ready to unleash their hard work to the world, independently on their own label, 852 Musiq.
The album went on to become the #1 Independent Album on Billboard and topped the R&B Album Charts in the UK and in other parts of the world, whilst the lead single ‘Way Back’ remained in the Adult R&B singles chart for months.
We are still super stoked about this solid body of work produced by T-Boz and Chilli.
The essence of Left Eye‘s is ever present on the record, too — through a shout out on “No Introduction“, where they sing “Left Eye still here, irreplaceable position“, and an interlude featuring Left Eye talk about her wishes and aspirations.
TLC gave their fans a once in a lifetime opportunity to dance with them in an exclusive masterclass in LA, courtesy of DanceOn and Live Nation!
T-Boz and Chilli attended the DanceOn masterclass on May 16, 2019 at Mirhan K. Studios in Burbank, CA. Limited tickets were available to fans who wanted to participate in the session with the girls!
TLC were super humble and down to earth as always, taking time out to mingle with every fan that attended the event.
They gave fans a fun dance tutorial, teaching them the choreography to some of their biggest hits, including “Creep“, “Way Back“, and “What About Your Friends?“, the latter of which was the main focus for the masterclass!
The event was a huge success enjoyed by all, and the girls have expressed interest in doing it again sometime in the future!
Feeling creative? To be in with a chance to WIN VIP tickets to see TLC live and meet the girls on their summer tour in conjunction with Live Nation!
