TLC’s ‘CrazySexyCool’ 30th Anniversary Edition to Include DE SOFFER ‘Waterfalls’ Remix

Sony Music have been gearing up to celebrate the 30th anniversary of TLC’s biggest selling, groundbreaking album ‘CrazySexyCool‘ with a special re-release of the album on it’s original release date of November 15th, 2024.

The ‘CrazySexyCool (30th Anniversary Edition)’ will feature all 16 of the original tracks from the 1994 release, and in addition to those, Sony have commissioned two new remixes to add some fresh content to the album.

The album is available for pre-save on Spotify and will also be available on Apple Music.

We’d love to see Sony dive into the archives for some unreleased music from the ‘CrazySexyCool’ sessions. We would love to see some of the “Kick Your Game” remixes added to streaming platforms, too.

TLC fans would once and for all love to see the footage released from the Budweiser Superfest 1995, which also served as the tour that supported the ‘CrazySexyCool’ album at the time.

As previously mentioned, the “Creep” remix by DJ Pessto will be added to the album, and a new remix of “Waterfalls” by DJ DE SOFFER will also be included on the release.

‘CrazySexyCool’ was such a pioneering album that set the standards for others to follow, and it has stood the test of time 30 years later. It deserves so much more on this incredible milestone.

The first girl group to achieve a diamond certified album. The sales continue to increase til this day.

DJ Pessto Hired to Officially Remix TLC’s ‘Creep’ for 30th Anniversary of ‘CrazySexyCool’

TLC‘s iconic sophomore album, ‘CrazySexyCool‘, celebrates the 30th anniversary since its release on November 14th, 1994!

The first single released from the album, “Creep“, was released on October 31st, 1994 and became their first ever number one single on the Billboard Hot 100.

To celebrate its milestone this year, Sony Music and its legacy department Legacy Recordings have recruited the services of superstar DJ Pessto to work his magic on a remix of “Creep”!

Predrag Stojkov, or better known as Pessto is a young Serbian DJ, record producer and songwriter on a mission to bring his passion for electronic dance music to the world’s biggest stages. Over the last couple of years, the 24-year old has been busy in the studio, preparing the storm of new songs that’s about to take over the global music scene.

A new chapter began in 2022 with his massive debut on legendary Ministry Of Sound Records (Sony Music), joining the record label’s exciting roster which includes stellar names like: Doja Cat, Riton, Sigala, Oliver Heldens, Disciples and more.

Pessto teamed up with the dance music titan Paul Woolford in 2022 on “Can You Pay?“, a highly anticipated electronic working of the iconic 90s R&B classic ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’ by Destiny’s Child.

Pessto’s most recent release was in May to assist Jennifer Lopez with a spectacular remix of her hit, “Waiting For Tonight“, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her debut album, ‘On The 6‘.

Pessto took to his social media to announce his TLC remix on November 4th. “You can’t think about the ‘90s without thinking of TLC”, Pesso said. “The legendary trio made history as the best-selling female group of all time, delivering countless hits and shaping the future of R&B”.

“I’m beyond thrilled to share that I had the honor of working on an official remix for their Grammy-winning classic, “Creep”!”, Pessto continued. “Dropping this Friday on Arista/ LaFace Records!”

The Pessto “Creep” remix will be released on Friday 8th November, 2024 on all streaming platforms.

What are your thoughts on the Pessto remix of “Creep”? How would you like TLC to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘CrazySexyCool’?

T-Boz Surprises Her Ex Mr. Dalvin on Stage at Jodeci Concert For His Birthday

It felt like it was the 90’s all over again at the Stockbridge Amphitheater in the state of Georgia on July 21, and it wasn’t just because one of the greatest R&B groups of the 90’s, Jodeci, were performing for two nights at the iconic venue.

There was something else that made this night extra special. The gorgeous T of TLC made a special guest appearance during the Jodeci concert, which was a weekend-long concert alongside the legendary Johnny Gill and R&B group Silk.

Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins took to the stage to present her former beau and lifelong friend, Dalvin “Mr. Dalvin” DeGrate, with a stunning custom cake to celebrate his birthday, which was coming a few days later on July 23.

T-Boz greeted Mr. Dalvin and K-Ci Hailey on stage, (Jodeci members Jojo Hailey and Devanté DeGrate were not present) and then proceeded to serenade the birthday guy with a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday“, with support from the crowd and the Jodeci band, including guitarist Mykal Curtis, who is commonly known for being a regular in TLC’s band when they go on tour.

Mr. Dalvin took to his Instagram on his birthday to thank T-Boz for her kind gesture, and hilariously included TLC’s “Creep” as the soundtrack to the post.

For added context, T-Boz broke up with Mr. Dalvin back in the day due to his promiscuity during their relationship, and the TLC song “Creep” is about a cheating partner, although it wasn’t about their relationship in particular.

“Thank you, T-Boz, for surprising me on stage with one of the most creative bday cakes I’ve ever seen,” Mr. Dalvin said. “It’s rare to find someone u can call a real friend no matter what the situation was … we are friends for life”, before adding “… that song tho”, along with laughing emoji’s.

T-Boz joined in the comments and said, “The song though!!! Always Got U!!!” Mr. Dalvin replied, saying, “u ain’t right lol,” and T-Boz hit right back and said, “u chose it! u so funny, haaaaa love it, though.” Mr. Dalvin concluded the chat with “I wonder why [I chose that song]” with some humorous emoji’s.

Last month, the couple labeled themselves as ‘Batman and Robin‘ when they reunited to say that they had something exciting to announce, which has yet to be revealed.

T-Boz and Mr. Dalvin have the cutest friendship. They are the living proof that you can grow closer to ex partners after a break-up and can get along better as friends.

However, time will tell if our favourite couple from the 90’s will ever rekindle the flame one day!

Left Eye’s ‘Supernova’ Album Will Be Released to Streaming Platforms ‘When The Time Is Right’, Says Her Sister Reigndrop Lopes

This week marks 22 years since the tragic passing of the iconic, trendsetting and the center of TLC, the dearly beloved Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.

It is an annual tradition for TLC and Left Eye fans to request the release of the debut solo album of Left Eye, ‘Supernova‘, to streaming platforms, on her birthday. And this was no different on the 22nd anniversary of her passing.

To put things into perspective, Left Eye’s album was partially released in 2001, excluding the United States after a lackluster reception to her solo single, “The Block Party“.

Following the tragic loss of Left Eye in April 2002, the future of her solo career was left in limbo, and the rights to her material were put on hold.

The Lopes family had released a tribute album in 2009 via Mass Appeal in the form of ‘Eye Legacy‘ — a compilation of remixed tracks taken from her original album, ‘Supernova’.

Left Eye’s posthumous album, ‘Eye Legacy’ (2009)

‘Eye Legacy’ received mixed reviews, and the majority of fans preferred to have the original album released in its entirety, the way in which Left Eye would have wanted. ‘Supernova’ was a body of work that she was proud of, and it should be kept intact and released to honor her wishes.

Left Eye’s younger sister, Reigndrop Lopes, finally gained control and ownership of the masters for the original ‘Supernova’ album in 2021. Fans have been excited at the news, and Reigndrop hinted that she may release the album on the date Lisa initially wanted it to be released on, August 16.

However, three years have passed since the announcement, and the album has yet to be seen on any streaming platforms. “My family own Lisa’s masters, so you don’t have to go to anyone else to ask them to put it out on streaming”, Reigndrop said in 2021.

“We’re working on it, we’re working on a lot of other stuff, so just be patient. Timing is everything, it’s going to come out when it’s supposed to come out. Just know that your voices are being heard and we’re working on it. A lot of things are happening at the same time which is overwhelming, so we have to pace it out. But it will be out, I promise”.

“We’re working to release ‘Supernova’ to streaming on the date that she originally wanted her album to be released”, Reigndrop announced in 2022. “And if you’re a real fan you already know what the date is, so I don’t have to say it”. Although she added that “plans can change”, she was adamant that,”That date meant something to Lisa, so we’re going to stick to that”.

When questioned about the topic of the album release in 2024, Reigndrop decided to clear the air and make it clear that nothing was set in stone. “Life happens and no promises were made!”, Reigndrop states. “Rest assured, it will be released at the right time. Sometimes things don’t happen when you want them to, but when they need to”.

So, the bottom line is, the album will be released on streaming platforms when the time is right. Reigndrop teased details of a Left Eye biopic in the works in 2022, and that she was working with executive producer Grammy and Oscar winning Elizabeth Hubbard.

The Lopes family will be hosting their first ever annual Left Eye Wellness Expo and birthday party on Sunday, May 26, 2024 to honor Lisa’s memory and legacy.

The location will be at The Atrium, 5479 Memorial Dr. Stone Mountain, GA 30083.
