T-Boz & Mr Dalvin Reunite at the Jodeci ‘Culture Tour’ 2022 with New Edition

TLC superstar Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins stopped by at the Culture Tour on April 8, 2022 when the show touched down in Savannah, GA to show some love and support to her performing friends, New Edition, Charlie Wilson and Jodeci.

T-Boz was able to catch up with her ex-boyfriend, Jodeci’s Dalvin DeGrate aka Mr Dalvin whilst at the show. The pair have remained good friends over the years and are always supportive of each other.

The former couple posted a cute video together simultaneously on their individual social media pages of their reunion, where they asked each other how they were doing. T-Boz said she was doing good, to which Mr Dalvin hilariously replied, “you’ve been without me, that’s why you’ve been good!”, leaving T-Boz laughing hysterically.

T-Boz and Mr Dalvin

T-Boz and Mr Dalvin were in a relationship during the 90’s and were considered the ultimate couple during their time together. T-Boz even made a cameo in the Jodeci video, 1995’s “Love U 4 Life“, posing as Mr Dalvin’s wife during the marriage ceremony.

Fans of the couple are always excited when they reunite publicly. Their last sighting together was in 2018 when T-Boz stopped by at the R&B Rewind concert where Jodeci were performing.

During an interview with the Scoop B Radio Podcast in 2020, Mr Dalvin explained why he is still close to T-Boz. “I think it’s kind of like any breakup you have, you realise after you break up how good of friends you could have been. There are things that probably drove you apart that had nothing to do with either one of you”.

He went on to say that the distance bewteen them as well as other people having input in their relationship led to things going downhill. However, despite the relationship not working out, there are no hard feelings and they remain good friends to this day.

Were T-Boz & Mr Dalvin your favorite celebrity couple back in the day?

TLC To Be Portrayed in Andre Rison Biopic ‘Wide Open’

Andre Rison, the former Atlanta Falcon and previous boyfriend of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, has decided to produce a biopic based on his life, ‘Wide Open: The Andre Rison Story’, after the success of the 2020 Lifetime special, ‘Hopelessly In Love: Lisa Lopes & Andre Rison, a documentary that chronicled the ups and downs of their relationship.

Rison announced that the project was in the works last year and subsequently sent out a casting call in August to hire talent in Atlanta to play the various characters in the movie, including Tupac Shakur, Deion Sanders and of course, the members of TLC.

The actresses hired to play TLC are Ashanti Harris as Chilli, Tetisheri Moniz as T-Boz, and Chaz aka Pink B as Left Eye. Pink B has been compared to Left Eye for having very similar looks. She had a small cameo in the VH1 biopic, ‘CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story‘ in 2013, playing a friend of Lil’ Mama, who played Left Eye in that film.

Pink B says that although some people wanted her to get the role of Left Eye in the VH1 biopic, she wasn’t ready at the time. “I’ve experienced a lot and did acting classes and went through a spiritual change so now is better than ever!”, she said on Instagram.

Andre Rison will be directing the film alongside film director Jerry D. May. In a press release, it states that Rison ‘takes off the gloves and gives it to you raw in the real story behind the ESPN, VH1, fluff. Film director Jerry D. May and best-selling author Derrick Handspike teamed up to produce what many are calling one of the most anticipated celebrity biopic films since “The OJ Simpson Story”.’

Rison has an in-depth relationship with TLC. Not only was he the love of Lisa’s life, he was also very supportive of T-Boz and Chilli, helping all three ladies during the infamous lawsuit they went through in 1996 when they filed for bankruptcy.

We look forward to seeing what details he provides for us and how the portrayal of TLC will be in this movie!

That Time T-Boz Played as Pam Grier a Reverse Stripper in the 2014 Animated ‘Black Dynamite’ Series

The year was 2009 when the blaxploitation 1970’s classic ‘Black Dynamite‘ was given a reboot on the big screen. That was when Cartoon Network‘s adult animated division Adult Swim decided to create an animated spin off series, based on storylines from the updated movie.

The original pilot episode of the animated series, executively produced by Carl Jones (‘The Boondocks‘), debuted in 2011. The series wasn’t released in full until 2012, lasting 2 seasons and airing 20 episodes in total.

T-Boz was no stranger to the world of animation. She had announced in 1999 that she was working on developing a cartoon with the Jim Henson Company, titled ‘It’s A Fly World’, although it never came to fruition.

She had also provided voice-over work for André 3000‘s Cartoon Network series ‘Class of 3000. “I did the voice, but they ended up going with someone else because I couldn’t get my voice to sound younger,” T-Boz told Billboard.

T-Boz was then hired by the Adult Swim company to play a guest role as Pam Grier on the second season of ‘Black Dynamite’. During this episode, Pam Grier is kidnapped along with some other top Blaxploitation actors, such as Rudy Ray Moore, and Jim Kelly, by the notorious Bill Cosby, who wants to transform actors into dignified representations of the black race.

“I was the reverse stripper,” T-Boz explained. “It was funny because I was supposed to be sexy, but I started off naked and put my clothes on.” While Bill Cosby is on his mission to force the changes, Black Dynamite, who is voiced by the original actor Michael Jai White, saves the day.

T-Boz later supplied her voice-over talents as a favor to The Asylum’s 2016 movie, ‘Trolland‘, where she played the character Jarvik. Ja Rule and Dick Van Dyke also star.

We hope to see T-Boz in more voice-over roles in the future, as well as acting roles! She starred in ‘After Masks‘ earlier this year.
